Cleanrooms are classified by the ISO standard, which defines the allowable concentration of airborne particles per cubic meter of air. The classification ranges from ISO Class 1 (the cleanest) to ISO Class 9 (least clean).
Each industry has particular ISO standards. However, it is advised to always align ISO class with both regulatory expectations and process risk level.
